What led to that double-digit downturn yesterday?

How do you read the article on semiconductor.net?
1. SPSN goes out of SSD? (Thats what they basically say.)
2. SPSN goes out of NAND? (We don't see the merits to compete against NAND.)
3. SPSN goes out of ORNAND? (SPSN provides ORNAND flash with NAND interface. If I think about topic 1 and 2 it doesn't make sense anymore.)

So ORNAND is left only for the eclipse approach. A combination of ORNAND, NOR and a controller on a single chip as I understand it.

SPSN wants to compete against DRAM for server data centers. Thats the Virident equity investment. Have a look at Viridents patent portfolio:

I expect another announcement on tuesday wrt to virident memory. But I regard it as a niche market. There is also the Metaram approach with stacked DRAMs and the possibility to switch of (sleep state) several DRAMs to reduce electric power and increase the number of used DRAMs. This approach doesn't have the fallback of two orders of magnitude in write performance that Virident memory has with the use of NOR/ORNAND. Metaram is not only appropriate to data servers but even Metaram doesn't seem to be the revenue rocket everybody speaks about...

Another explanation for the downturn yesterday could be the VLSI symposium currently taking place in Honolulu.

No lecture from SPSN there btw. I have to study the list of lectures more in detail but from my first impression it seems that floating gate keeps on living down beyond the 3x nm node. It was one of my hopes as an investor that NOR/NAND is forced to switch to charge trapping and use SPSNs patents to go below 3x nm.

Any comments?
Regards
