it will take a long time to get rid of gas guzzlers.

those us who drive few miles or live in cities without a major commute cannot justify replacing a gas guzzler. I just had my plugs replaced, new o2 sensors and air cleaner installed. mileage now back to 18 mpg. I could never justify buying a fuel efficient car and go back to monthly car payments because i could at least double my mileage .

I know this is the case with several of my friends that live in cities. everything is within a couple of miles. Plus they all have the alternative to use public transportation if they wanted to. of course none of them ever do use public transportation. unlike nyc where there is a heavy incentive to use public transportation because of parking.
