I see your point. But new generations of vehicles will be lighter.

I drive a Hundai Azera. It's a good car, and its highway mileage is good. But it's on the heavy side, and in town, with constant stop and go, it burns gas like crazy. 2-3-4 mile trips take you through half a tank in no time.
