as i remember the 70s, there was a push for alt fuels, cars etc. When the price of gas fell that mostly went away. The result was the obscene Hummer getting 8 miles per gallon. Thats what we have to prevent. But taxing gas to force it to say at $4 which JF and i suggested earlier, i am not so sure its fair and i know damn well that in a presidential year, american people wont accept it. I am having trouble finding real solutions.
