I've taught two day eight hour perl programming and advanced unix classes and it's amazing how physically and mentally tiring the process is - I gained a lot more respect for my kids teachers from the experience. In my world I get a lot of stump the professor types and it's tough to answer or deflect the question and not look incompetent or lose the class on side issues they don't care about.

I know how hard it is for people to believe it......I too never thought it was that hard. And I too have a new found respect for all teachers. My mentor teacher is amazing.....how hard she works for so little pay. And when the district runs out of supplies, she ends up buying more with her own money. Our public schools need help.
