So what you are calling for is shutting down the world's most Mobil society and culture. And flipping us into a recession to boot. Just so some people can have their pig SUVs.

You have found a scape goat in an inanimate object - an SUV - but it is only a small part of the overall puzzle.

Some people pig out on houses, some people pig on cars, some people pig out on air travel...

So what you are calling for is shutting down the world's most Mobil society and culture.

I thought you were. I rent minivans or SUVs sometimes, when I go to ski or when I have more people in the car, or when I am moving something large, normal sized cars when I am not doing anything out of ordinary. You seem to be saying that it is entirely illegitimate thing to manufacture and sell these large vehicles, and there should be only small, more efficient cars...

People use these larger vehicles to make deliveries (for living - with their seats down or out, SUVs and minivans have decent cargo space) and use it for personal uses as well.

Besides, this is USA, not Soviet Union. People don't have to justify to the government the choices they make. They (should) have to live with the consequences of their choices...
