I had the same thought about that Tower Hill letter. I know nothing at all about the writer. What is the ownership interest in COHR that Tower Hill represents? I am guessing .12% or so, where if he doesn't like the management, he can liquidate easily. Personally, I do not believe stockholders should protest about management unless they hold such a large stake in the business that they would then have a hard time unloading.
But there was something that did intrigue me about the letter, the concept of a sale. Let's see, at 2x sales minimum that would be a nice premium even to where the stock was selling a week ago . . . .. There is no reason for COHR to put itself on the block, but some company may now show some interest in reasonably priced COHR, especially if its price stagnates at current levels. It is intriguing, but I never let possible takeovers influence my investment choices, as you seldom have any idea of when they will happen, and they happen infrequently.
