Union reaches deal to end Peru Cerro Verde strike

LIMA, June 20 (Reuters) - A strike at the Peruvian copper pit Cerro Verde (CVE.LM: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz) should be lifted on Saturday after the union reached a deal to end the week-long walkout, a union official told Reuters on Friday.

The mine is Peru's third-largest copper producer and is owned by Freeport McMoRan (FCX.N: Quote, Profile, Research, Stock Buzz). (Reporting by Marco Aquino, writing by Terry Wade)
