GLCC in actually a MONEYMADE pick, and he seems to get some pretty good tips from time to time. He'll probably take over Moderating the Board that I started for it. Subject 57518

I'm less concerned with A/S and O/S than you typically are; the rapid expansion of their stores is what I find intriguing. 20,000 units by 2010 is the target figure I believe was mentioned. You have to have either very deep investor pockets - or a dam* good banker - to put up 100s and 100s of pseudo-7-11 / Quik-Stop / Apu's Qucikie-Mart stores all over rural and metro China. Concrete, roofing, coolers, gondolas and cash registers cost $$$ vs. roadside fruit stands. And, WiFi hotspots in the stores were mentioned recently, also.

GLCC is connected to Petro China (..like McDonalds is with big truck stops over here these days..), so with the effort they're making to be totally transparent, I thought you'd be reasonably impressed.

"..Casey's.." convenience stores hiere in the Midwest (..clean, well stocked, ATMs, and cheap Gasahol..) were developed by a Rotary buddy of my Dad's. They are doing great, still expanding at a good click, and the gentleman (RIP) passed away with many MMs of shekels in his bank account.

:-)
