6/20/08 update
Wall Street's ursine gang maintained control of the neighborhood, pushing the Nasdaq Composite Index to a -9.28% YTD loss (vs. -7.46% YTD loss a week ago). But, for mysterious reasons, the bears were somewhat kinder to biotechs, with the Nasdaq Biotech Index up a wee bit for the week, closing down -4.51% YTD (vs. down -4.75% YTD a week ago). Nonetheless, the Contest portfolio median was lower for the week, closing down -11.57% YTD (vs. down -10.33% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 7 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 11 of the portfolios beating the NBI. Not surprisingly, GENE's portfolio remained in first place, closing the week with a 90.9% YTD gain. Second place ROBERT's portfolio finished the week with a 22.5% YTD gain.
Have a terrific weekend everybody!
