Dems are worried about looking soft i.e. not protecting the public right before this next election. The dems ahve been beaten up so badly over issues of patriotism and security for 40 yars now they have been playing the Machiavellian card since Clinton. The dems would like to prosecute them and do many other things, but they have learned that every time they try it the americna public vote for the conservative republican. to his credit Obama has stated if elected he will prosecute the criminals. Past presidents have let past criminal acts by presidents slide. There has certianly been war profiteering which is an act of treason last I looked. Remember Nixon verus Mcgovern, willie Hortn, Swiftboating. Clinton prostitued himself and won two terms. We cannot have acivilized society until the American people start electing civilized and intelligent candiates when they run. Our country has been run by the least educated and sophisticated ideas of our country for 30 years now because they have they numbers in the voting booth. And look where we are! PS bush hired over 100 lawyers from the pat Robertson law school!!!!!!!
