Processing power in the past has not allowed OFDM in the WAN. We have now entered the era where this is finally possible. Looking at the last 10 years is not useful; the next 10 years will tell the story. Engineer, who as I understand works for the subject company, has been dropping less than subtle hints on the QUALCOMM thread for ages that WiMAX will become pervasive and cheap - everyone has been ignoring him. Not wise!

BTW no bias against CDMA, just the determined view that is has limits and a shelf life, like every other technology....
