the scenery while tripping here by car was quite spectacular (deep gorges, clear water, farmed hills, etc etc)
the rural ecological and experimental development zone has population of around 7 mil
the place is apparently astoundingly wealthy in terms of mineral and coal resources
the government's first initiative is to build the highway that connects the zone to the outside world, and second effort was to build a university and hire teachers
the entire place is a construction zone, but the university is already operating, full of local students, visibly happy and obviously full of hope, absolutely inspiring
the experiment will either succeed and become a model for rural development across china, or fail, but not for lack of trying
bullish
no-brainer investment would be to buy land here and simply wait for the folks to do their natural thing
