koan. Sounds like you found some good help.

One must draw a distinction between
A. Leadership Decisions which answer the questions
1. What is the proper role of this country at this time?
2. What do we want this country to become?
3. What must we do to get there?
AND
B. Management decisions
1. How do we get there-specific objectives and tasks
to reach those goals that have been chosen.
2. How do we implement

C. Then there is the matter of uniting the people in persuit
of these goals. Desrale said that it is through words
that some men govern other men

If the wrong leadership decisions are made in A but implemented perfectly im B then the country will suffer.

If the right leadership decisions are made as in A and
the right management decisions are made as in B, but
the leaders cannot unite the people to strive and
suffer to achieve these tasks and objectives then failure
will result.

The leadership decisions seem to be very difficult to make at this time due to deep divisions in the country. For Example, almost all can see that the presidents of the past several years lacked the vision to choose for the US to develop energy independance , even if the cost was high. Thus, the
US has become reactive rather than proactive in many areas.

I think what people see in Obama is his excellent ability to inspire by giving moving stump speeches. This compares to McCain's very poor ability to give these speeches. Still McCain does very well in town hall type environments.

What we should fear in Obama is that he will tend to
choose the wrong A decisions due to lack of experienc in many key and important areas and that his priorities will be misplaced. Then, If he inspires americans to achieve these this, poor country will have spent itself into an even deeper hole.

This poor country needs to be making some money (rather than relying on handouts).
