RMF, > I have serious doubts that a N. Korean attack would be repelled.

The reasons that you gave for your doubts don't make any sense, since you're assuming that the 30K American soldiers there are South Korea's only line of defense.

Like I said, North Korea would completely telegraph an attack, and the South Korean air force (consisting of American F-16 fighters and other modern aircraft) can take out most of the "100,000 artillery pieces" that you fear so much. K-1 tanks can make short work of any armored column, and North Korea's air force is virtually non-existent.

The only question now is whether America really needs to stick around. Most people think South Korea can handle their own defense.
