China's strategy should be to go Gung Ho with Qualcomm and CDMA2000/OFDM-A in 450MHz [or even 800MHz] and leverage their home advantage into global dominance.

Quite so.

The Chinese version is still CDMA and royalties are due QCOM.

We'll see.

The Japanese did the same thing with their 2G kentais. Perhaps with their 3G version, too, I don't remember.
