At the same time as having to deal with Afghanistan and Iraq, the State Dept. has had to deal with the Israeli/Lebanese situation, cleaning up a huge inherited mess in North Korea, Iran, irrational attitudes on the parts of previous European governments (France, Germany, others, although they've now been replaced with governments who are supportive), a totally obtuse congress which has resorted to everything from treason to bad manners in its efforts to stop Bush from accomplishing anything, and a political opposition which hasn't gotten over the fact that Bush won not one, but two, elections even though the Left tried its damndest to steal them both.
