In most certainly is a sign of action to see thousands of previously disenfranchised and disaffected citizens rally behind something they feel they can believe in. And yes, winning the favor of the citizenry is part of what democracy is about.

But for cynics everything always distills into misery so I'll take leave of you now so you can imbibe your comforting cocktail in solitude.
