Electricity costs: That problem was sure brought home to me when our hydro lines were broguht down by a huge avalanche last winter. Our electricity cost rose 500% from having to use diesel as we repaired the lines.

So my electric bill went from $125 a month to $625. Add to that $5 heating oil versus $2 a couple of years ago and now it cost $2500 to fill up my oil tank

My car gets almsot 30 miles to the gallon and we have few roads, so I save there, but I can just imagine what the rest of the world is going through.

The most interestig thing is how our government did not see this rapid rise in oil, or warn of this, or work to mitigate it years ago.
