In fighting the swiftboating tactics of harris and shorty, you continue to take cheap shots at McCain. Thats what they are trying to get you to do---sink to their level. It validates there claims that obama wasnt born at all, is a muslim, etc. etc. When you say stupid things about mccains intelligence, they win/you lose both in terms of the argument and in terms of the coming election. Trust me on this. I went up against these morons four years ago with Kerry, even though i voted for bush. Dont make gratuitous attacks on mccain and dont respond to their stupid posts. We, both left and right, know how stupid and mean spirited these guys are so all you do when you go gratuitous on mccain is to piss me and other undecides off. See what they are up to????
I understand what you're saying about harris and shortie but I have to tell you, I don't have the same level of respect for McCain that you have. I have to admit part of it is his age......it really impacts his delivery when he speaks. He's not very agile or energetic at all. The difference between now and just 5 years ago is rather significant. I think he must be deteriorating mentally.
However, in addition to that, I can't respect a man who is so weak.....and don't give me his POW status in rebuttal. He may have been strong bakc then but that doesn't mean he's remained strong. When I see that photo of him hugging Bush like a greedy child knowing that Bush and his campaign trashed him badly in 2000, I am disgusted.
In addition, I can't respect a man who keeps changing his positions so diametrically. There is the one video where he does 180º turns at least 5 times on the issues.
Finally, I can't respect a man who goes over to Iraq, walks in a Baghdad flea market and tells the world that Iraq is perfectly safe as he is surrounded by huge security and with army helicopters circling overhead. That makes him a liar.
So I think you need to be honest here, michael.........I think McCain represents your conservative values more effectively than Obama and that's why you like him.....not because the man is special or particularly worthy of admiration and support. |
