Re: I Don’t Like Bullies and I Won’t be Bullied
Just a short memo to cover my weekend events of interest today. A group representing themselves as “strategic offshore investors” contacted me. As always, I was cordial with my conversation with them but politely stated that Platina had a debt funding in place and was happy with the relationship.
The conversation turned from an offering of funding, to a threat that I did not take kindly to. In so many words, this group said that if they were not allowed to purchase several million shares from the Company treasury, than they would call everyone that they knew to “short sell” the stock.
I’ve been a CEO long enough to know that people like this are serious, but they also come and go and as Platina delivers what it has promised. The Company is highly supported by loyal shareholders, and threats like this are merely just threats.
Unfortunately, as per their word, they had a market surprise waiting for us this morning. However, as our loyal supporters understand, nothing but a bump in the road. Our numbers will soon speak for themselves, and the Company will be better for it. I’m sorry to those who were just plain shook up by this, but that is the nature of the stock market—over reaction.
If I had a dollar for every group that has tried to bully us, I’d be wealthy. On the other hand, I feel very blessed with those that continue to believe in our little Company and trust that they will be rewarded for their patience. Everyone who has personally spoken with me understands that we have a solid Company that is growing by leaps and bounds and will continue to do so.
I just wanted the opportunity to reconfirm to everyone that I don’t know of any major sellers in the stock looking to liquidate large blocks and we are not going to be bullied by some ill-founded group who just wishes to profit for the sake of harming our Company. This is not the first attack on us and likely will not be the last.
Thank you for your loyal support and understanding and I continue to do all that I can to make this a great Company for all shareholders to benefit from.
