It is my understanding there are now many less public schools down there.

I just did my student teaching and the schools are in bad shape. The physical plant of my school is deteriorating badly and my teacher has to buy some of her own supplies.

This past week there's been a big brouhaha over 17 girls getting pregnant in a MASS high school. While there are many reasons give for why so many girls are pregnant, the one that stands out is that under Bush money is tight generally and particularly for contraceptives and info about contraceptives. So the school ran out of both long ago. As you many know, the Bush administration has been pushing abstinence for the past 8 years. Well as it turns out, teen pregnancies started turning up in 2006 and now are the worse they've been in 14 years. Another failed policy of the Bush administration? You betcha!
