Yes, that's true -- Martinez was the "good cop" in the interrogations. The NYT decision to "out" him, however, is the most blatant and morally bankrupt action I've heard of in some time.

For the life of me I cannot understand why there isn't a very loud public outcry over this. There ought to be.

It concerns me deeply that the major newspapers around the country are collapsing financially, and we are likely to end up with a very small number of major papers when it is over -- and the NYT will be one (along with the WAPO). It is definitely going to be placing an awful lot of political power in the hands of an extreme liberal organization.
