They object to waste, fraud and abuse. They object to the government interfering with their lives. They object to incompetence.

This is exactly right. Nowhere have I said these people complained about paying taxes (although I'm sure most of us would love to pay less). They just want the government not to interfere. I believe most people who run businesses feel the same way. Those who are government employees or rely on someone else to write them a pay check probably aren't appreciative.

We are lucky to have the best government in the world. But it is obviously usurping more and more of our lives as time goes on -- and this is a direct result of liberalism and its tendency toward socialism. Nothing will destroy our government faster than socialism.

It isn't a battle between the haves and have-nots. I've known many self-employed people who were not particularly wealthy but found themselves totally frustrated at the fact that they had to hire a CPA to do their taxes, only to find they're being hammered by the government as a price for hiring people, providing jobs, and generally being productive business people.
