I wrote to the author of that piece saying that there's nothing to analyze - Russert - very unfortunately - was grossly fat - lousy triglycerides, lousy LDL, lousy weight and waist circumference - so why talk about it? THAT'S why he died.

I actually got an answer - well, they and he were working on weight reduction. Look at his photos - no they weren't.
