I notice that the months after quarter's end and before earnings are reported have had significant declines in this and the previous 2 quarters. Followed by above expected earnings.
I suspect it represents fear of the consumer housing market slowing down plus inflation's effect on RPM. And just a general feeling of angst in the market of late. Plus an analyst lowered his opinion on RPM a couple days ago and that seems to scare enough people that the price often takes a hit.
So this quarter seems to have suffered a more rapid decline than the previous two, but I am not overly concerned and will buy again at $17.86 where I bought in Nov of 07 should it get there again. Actually, I believe I'll buy at a price higher than that since we've had 2 quarters of earnings which are better than I expected since I decided $17.86 was a good price. On the other hand, the market has declined some more so that I might be able to buy cheaper. .76 dividend on an $18 share is well over 4% also and that is a good return from a company I regard as quite safe.

I guess I'll begin buying if the price gets as low as $19.

Best, L.
