Clinton almost had us out of the woods. The very first thing lil bush did was reduce the taxes on the rich by a trillion dollars. The congressional budget office said that was the main reason for the huge deficits. Even more important than the war was the lost revenue from the tax cuts on the rich.

The worse part about this whole mess is that when it comes to the bottom line, Bush/Cheney are not the ones at fault but rather Americans have only themselves to blame. I will never forgive my fellow countrymen for screaming in 2000 for Gore to give up so that the new president aka Bush could be put in place by 1 January, 2001. If Americans knew and understood their Constitution, they would have known they had nothing to fear.

Instead, Americans got the president they deserved.
