Lehman starts coverage of miner Vale with buy.
1:26 PM ET, Jun 26, 2008 - By Nathan Becker
Lehman Brothers has initiated coverage of Brazilian miner Vale with an "overweight" rating, calling the company "the dominant producer of iron ore and nickel with an industry-leading organic growth pipeline." The researcher approved of Vale aggressively trying to become the world's largest mining company, and it estimates Vale's earnings per share next year will be $3.96. Lehman has set a target price of $45 per share for Vale, and it suggests investors should buy Vale stock immediately.
