What got me was the gasoline waste. I commuted on a motorcycle, splitting lanes, through 20 miles of idling one passenger SUVs spread out across four to six lanes of bumper to bumper crawling. That was in S. Cal., but I knew the same idiocy was repeated in scores of cities across the nation. Obviously unsustainable.
