It's nice to think of ourselves as intellectual beings, clever, sophisticated, wise ... still we remain subjects of the kingdom Animalia, pushed hither and yon by animal spirits, as Keynes pointed out, and very much material creatures, attached to our creature comforts, which are all made out of materials ... yes Mozart can be copied, you need materials to do it though

'it's because the philosophical foundations on which the efforts were founded were in conflict with the laws of harmony'

Whose foundations, whose law of harmony? ... one man's joyous animal spirits are another man's psychosis, and vice versa, 'twas always thus ... try to make a fiat currency not subject to the whim of somebody that somebody else doesn't trust - good luck with that

'to cut a cheque' - we cut cards too ... oh well, plenty of material trees here in BC, we can crank out new cheques, cards, paper 'money', what have you, no problem with this particular material
