The bears continued to treat biotechs more leniently than most other stocks. And, at Friday's close, the Nasdaq Composite Index was down -12.69% YTD loss (vs. -9.28% YTD loss a week ago) while the better performing Nasdaq Biotech Index was down -4.82% YTD (vs. down -4.51% YTD a week ago). The Contest portfolio median also outperformed the Nasdaq Composite for the week, closing down -12.76% YTD (vs. down -11.57% YTD a week ago).
At week's end, 7 of the 33 Contest portfolios were in the black YTD with 9 of the portfolios beating the NBI. GENE's portfolio remained in the lead, closing the week with a 88.1% YTD gain and ROBERT's portfolio held on to second place with a 26.3% YTD gain.
