The ORI meeting was interesting not for what was said but for what was
not said. Just the regular detail of activity. ORI did the required work on the Goddell to acquire a 60% interest in it. The work has terminated and the tunnel is being flooded for the winter. It is cheaper to pump it out than try to run pumps etc all winter. I have
surmised that work will not begin again even in 1998 pending the
"possible coming events" It would be more likely that production of current reserves would take place first. (My determination). The ORI years programme will be over when the current drill hole is completed this weekend or so. I think this all has to do with the many rumors over the past few months of possible amalgamation of all companies concerned. Somewhere things have to come to a standstill to evaluate the value of each companies assets and set a price of exchange. There
was absolutely no discussion or hint of such events but as a betting man I think we are in for some surprises in the next few months.
Malcolm Slack has just come back from Europe and I gather he had
a successful financing venture or potential thereof. There were 3 members of TYG board present and they were "Listeners" only. There was some anxiety that there presence may have been to precipitate a voting out of the ORI board but it did not occur so the slate presented has stayed in. As I have stated, it was the lack of news that makes me draw the conclussion that we are in for some news in the not too distant future. Maybe even some long needed PR. If so, the present release and coming releases could be the firing shots..
Lets face it. There are some big bucks needed for the next phase and they won't be doing underwritings at the present prices.
Stay tuned for the next episode.
