Perhaps MJ was referring to various Mom and Pops conduits, endowments who in turn put some of "their" money into hedgies.

Then again Wall St. was never bashful about recycling old concepts. What started as outsourced prop desks and bank balance sheets needs new investor equity. They could have been named SIV or F.I.A.S.C.O but they settled with "hedge funds"....
