The new system of production will concentrate manufacturing where the resources are. Steel and oil in Brazil. CSN expects the mill to produce 1.5 million metric tons of steel rebar, machine wire and other products annually in four years. Vale has partnerships in Brazil for other steel-mill projects to secure long-term contracts for its iron ore. The company is building mills with ThyssenKrupp AG in Rio de Janeiro, Dongkuk Steel in Ceara state and Baosteel Group Corp. in Espirito Santo state. PBR will build refineries, ethanol pipeliens and ships to refine and export blended gasoline.
