ok, if one really wants a science project to figure how to get all the hydrogen needed to run an appreciable number of cars/vehicles, how to develop storage to keep hydrogen's Tiny, tiny molecules from escaping, how to get the price of a hydrogen car to a price normal people can afford, and get the service station infrastructure deployed, i will agree that hydrogen is a choice.

i love hydrogen as a choice, but i think just obtaining enough cost competitive hydrogen to make a difference is a big research science project in itself. a few years ago i was tuned in to some us/japanese/and australian researchers who had big plans with titanium dioxide and some other titanium compounds to essentially use these as electrodes for electrolysis using sunlight. not only have i not heard a peep out of them after some of their big meetings in australia, but also i could not get them to respond to any emails i sent to them. even their webpages about their work went unupdated. if some of their stuff works one day, it could be a game changer.
