Krugman actually refutes the whole issue of speculation in oil by comparing it to the increasing price of iron ore. ;-)

I think Krugman is correct. Japan paid a lot more a few years back in one day to tie up steel for their car industry.

This is twice in less than 5 years iron ore has gone by a lot in one day/

Look, every commodity is up.
