Sure ... so Sun needs to present innovative and compelling products that increase their market share. They already do pretty well in creating products that don't require lots of maintenance (unlike Windows). And they've been preaching server consolidation for several years.

So there's little disagreement here, except that I'm apparently more willing to recognize that many more people could benefit from systems similar to what you have (and beyond), and that they won't necessarily be provided by the same vendors that produced yours.

BTW, I just threw telecommuting out as an example of a possibility. There are others even I can think of, and I don't do this for a living.
