The only ones who really get the Republicans right are the African Americans. They consistantly vote over 90% for democrats. Becasue they know exactly who their friends are. And their enemies! As Afican Americans have been the most abused race during our 400 year history they know well their enemies. As a blond haired German/Scot my life has been a piece of cake. Anyway, IMO, it is really the right wing that wants to hang on to the past, and the left wing knows the past has been brutal. We humans have great humanistic qualities. Lincoln and our founding fathers understood that humanity was the objective of social functioning.
