The difference between this *fad*,and some you mention, is that the rest emenated from companies with some diversification and operational history. They weren't entirely dependent upon one product. Iomega certainly has proven not to be a fad - very poor example. Was it pure accident that the others you mentioned were all children's toys? Also, they were all unique in their own way.
The problems I have at this time with this company are: (1) their failure to provide information as promised, (2) lack of product diversification, (3) poorly differentiated product, (4) introduction of their product late in product cycle, and (5) no announcement yet of follow-on products.
Distribution is not king. You also have to have a great product, competitive price, and truly effective promotion. Something like 90% of the new products introduced each year by giants like Proctor & Gamble, Colgate, etc. never make it. Now those guys have DISTRIBUTION. Obviously distribution isn't always enough.
I can easily foresee a big run up on this company. But unless they address the other areas I cite, they probably will fall just as quickly.
I am neither long nor short at this time. When the company gives me some information I can sink my teeth into, then I may buy. *********************************************************************
Am I good, or what!!!! (All right, I tried them for a while, but was lucky to get out at about what I paid.) Hey, Paul, you still out there? George |
