Exports 2001 100 million liters increased to 3.4billion 2007.

Today exports are 20% of the total produced, that last year was 17.7billion liters.

What we lack is not ethanol. What we lack are clear rules in the international market that warrant decision to produce. Imagine if producers cranked up the distelleries and arbritary measures would be put in place?

Europe charges a tariff of €192 per m3. This is higher than the US which if we calculated in m3 would be USD140/m3.

These are the problems: tariffs and the lack of clear rules.

In the caseo of Europe Brazil has reached the first certification agreement fir 115 million liters to Sweden. The battle continues for more certification and lower tariffs.
