I watched the movie first, maybe about a year ago. Loved it, bought the series and started watching - and the first couple of episodes were - WTF - how did this series get through one season - so slow paced compared to the movie! But as I watched the other episodes it really grew on me and I think the whole thing is a real classic. But its so amazing - there are so many problems - with the science and other stuff, but its still so good and I can overlook the stuff that would normally drive me crazy But the only problem that I don't like is how the Chinese words were totally mangled. If I didn't have subtitles on, I wouldn't be able to tell that it was Chinese. I know only a little bit (but I hear people speak Chinese everyday so I know it when I hear it) so to be sure I asked a few native speakers and they said most said was unintelligible. Anyway heres a cute cartoon re: River Tam xkcd.com
