Steingart is an anti-American polemicist. If you read his column often enough, you won't find it surprising that - Steingart does not put the situation in context, e.g. mentioning the double digit M3 growth in the Euro and an ECB that has as few options as the Fed. - Steingart evokes the fast food image of the US and would never dream of upsetting his readers with something along the lines of as much a part of America as Microsoft or Silicon Valley rather than Pepsi and Pizza Hut. I find it unfortunate that he does not provide better trading signals for his countrymen by recommending anti-fiat plays rather than just criticizing the dollar and the Fed.
