Reagan was a likeable personality fronting for a lot of corporate criminals. Reagan's fatal error was believing that corporations should be totally trusted and government programs distrusted. Whether he knew that or not we may never know. After all he said almost nothing about the S+L debacle which was the first big supply side experiment in corporate deregulation and cost us 350 billion (plus interest).

Reagan did a total flipflop on this as back in the 50's he was a liberal democrat standing up for the workingclass against Standard Oil and the big corporate boss monopolies. If he had only stayed that way he could have been the greatest president ever. But now we see where his policies lead. To the destruction of the US middleclass, bankrupcy of the government and the total corruption of DC.
