Aaron- I have some familiarity with Candescent....

Rather a great deal of familiarity. If you read through the thread you'll see that I work at Candescent as an engineer. As such there are things I can and can't say.

I believe you are correct in your assessment that the Candescent IPO will be big. I wish I knew just how big and when. I can say that I have a great deal of confidence in the technology, and our ability do scale it to full production. You can read a little more at
candescent.com

Pixtech, Motorola, Micron, and FED Corp are among the other companies developing field emission displays. I won't call them competitors because I think the market is big enough for all of us, and the successes of one company will open new markets for the others. The real competitors are Sharp, Hosiden, Samsung, Toshiba, etc...

Since you ask about PixTech in particular, I'll just say that they are mostly French company based in Santa Clara. I saw a monochrome low-voltage display of theirs a while back, but I haven't seen their color display demo.

I haven't seen the Red Herring article. Where can we find it?
