Yeah, i did like the article, and thanks for mentioning it. I think the reason it was better than most of the other articles we've seen is that it was written from a technical perspective rather than a "business" perspective, so they were more apt to get their facts straight-they're concerned about product, not stock price.
The impression I got from the article was that obviously the technology was superior, but the service and support infrastructure is not in place. And according to the article, in the "enterprise" market that SGI needs to break into, you need decent technology *and* service and support, otherwise you don't have a full product(like maybe if you had to chose between buying a Viper(SGI) and Pinto(anything w/ NT), but the Viper doesn't come with headlights, so you can't see much and you'll probably end up driving over a cliff or something).
In conclusion, I think possibly the reason SGI hasn't ramped up their marketing just yet is because they don't have a complete product yet. And selling a lot of servers now would glut their support personnel, and make a lot of new customers very angry.
But then again what do I know? Thoughts, anyone?
