This morning on the road I was almost nailed (for the 3rd time in the past few months) by an idiot yapping on a cell phone ...

The "new" law has a penalty of $20 for the first offense.

It was one the the many window dressing efforts of the state politicos.

I don't oppose it, only the penalty which should be a $200 for a first timer.

But, where they really missed the mark is by not following NYC's law of no cell phone while walking across the street. I see damn fools every day in downtown L.A. (mostly girls)yapping away and not watching for vehicles.
