Karen, if you twisted your kaleidoscope a taste you might better interpret Maurice's kiwi dialect. First, I'd bet he has thorough familiarity with the literature supporting the conservative/libertarian philosophy; even more than the average denizen hereabouts. His ramblings are in support of that view.

Taking him literally is to miss his message. His wry style combines a gentle sarcasm with irony and wit.

But I guess we all don't have the same sense of humor.
