<<Mr Obama also rejected a suggestion by one of his supporters, retired Gen Wesley Clark, that Mr McCain - who spent five years as a Vietnamese prisoner of war - had overstated the importance of his military service while campaigning.

Mr Obama said "no-one should ever devalue that service, especially for the sake of a political campaign".>>

I know Obama is a pragmatist and sees this as the only way to win a presidential election (read: centerfield), but I think he was to quick to throw General Clark under the bus. I see nothing in Clark's statements in respect to McCain that it is disrespectful. Clark's statements were his opinions only, and they are considerable given his military background.

So Obama gets personally attacked by McCain and his surrogates and we barely hear anything from MSM. Obama's surrogates opines to matters he personally knows about and he gets throw to the wolves.

Is this fair play?
