Google says, "we were only playing leapfrog." Anti-Obama' blogs back up; should conspiracists be feeling 'a little silly?' USA TODAY A "kerfuffle" over the blocking of some blogs by Google -- all of them "anti-Obama" -- seems to be mostly over. The blogs have been unblocked and Simon Owens at Bloggasm, who had followed the developments, says that those who suspected a conspiracy led by supporters of Democratic presidential contender Barack Obama to shut down blogs critical of their man "might be feeling a little silly right now." Google's explanation for the blockings is that it's spam filters mistakenly got tripped. Still, The New York Times' Bits blog reports that at least one "anti-Obama" blogger isn't buying Google's explanation and continues to suspect there was some pro-Obama trickery involved. That blogger, Carissa Snedeker of Blue Lyon, has moved off of Google's Blogger platform to WordPress, as have several others who support the JustSayNoDeal movement that opposes Obama. blogs.usatoday.com
