Vernick said the Supreme Court decision underscores the need for further study into what will happen to suicide and homicide rates in the district when the handgun ban is lifted. Why? The law says you have the right to own a handgun. Also you have an inherent right to kill yourself, laws against suicide don't seem to work anyway.
